Directed 6 students in a monologue by Jose Riviera. The Loyola Department of Theatre Arts & Dance produced Theatre for One, a series of five short plays that feature one audience member and one performer at a time. Theatre for One featured the collaborative work of over fifty members of the Loyola Theatre Arts and Dance community, and was designed to provide a unique theatrical experience in light of the restrictions placed throughout COVID-19.
Cripple Creek presented a Works Progress Administration (WPA) play. Revolt of the Beavers, written by Oscar Saul and Louis Lantz and labeled “Marxism à la Mother Goose”, is a fantastical musical following two children into “Beaverland,” who help overthrow a tyrannical beaver chief that forces beavers to work without pay. Original music composed by local musician Byron Asher, Cripple Creek’s own Jessica Lozano directed, and the show featured a promenade of local luminaries in theatre and music.
This is a production of the LION KING with theatre students from Mary McLeod Bethune New Orleans. Jessica has experience applying for grants, directing and producing Children's Theatre for Mount Carmel High School., Academy of the Sacred Heart and Orleans Parish Public Schools.
